Skincare

Skincare can be used to treat a range of conditions from acne to rosacea, pigmentation to ageing. If you are considering injectable treatments, it is worth investing in skincare. Not only will this enhance any treatment outcome it will also help your results last longer and it will slow down further ageing.

Skincare should be tailored to you and your personal skincare needs; skincare is not a one size fits all. Individuals have unique skin profiles which can change with age, season and time.  Skincare isn’t just about the ingredients within the product, it is about the concentration and how it is delivered to the right layer of your skin, making the ingredients within the formulation active. Gemma only uses and recommends medical grade skincare; these are science-based skincare products to ensure the best results for you.

Gemma always had problems herself with Acne and although had used many treatments that would settle break outs down, she found it very difficult to prevent a break out; until a colleague recommended Alumier MD. It was life changing and gave her confidence and she knew she wanted to be able to help others with skincare using the same great evidence-based skincare. Alumier is not only used within the clinic but is recommended for home use.

What is the difference between medical grade and shop bought skincare?

Shop bought skincare is designed to be sold to the mass population. The ingredients with both shop bought, and professional skin care may sometimes be similar but in medical grade skin care it is the delivery system of the ingredients which makes it more active. Instead of sitting on top of the skin it is designed to penetrate to the right layer of skin and have an action. If this was sold to the mass population it could result in causing skin irritation. This is why a thorough consultation should be carried out first.
