RF Microneedling

RF microneedling is short for radiofrequency microneedling is a treatment that combines two technologies together: radiofrequency and microneedling.

Radiofrequency uses energy from radio waves to heat up the skin which help to tighten collagen fibres and eventually help production of new collagen, which helps to give a lifted, tightened effect to the skin.

Microneedling uses tiny microneedles to create micro wounds in the skin, as your body heals the skin it will make more collagen, elastin and fibroblasts, this will help to improve fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, pigmentation. As there are micro channels in the skin this can be used to help targeted serums reach the right layer of your skin making them more effective.

Used in combination this treatment really does pack a punch, giving skin an all over rejuvenated feel, looks smoother, firmer tighter and a more even skin tone and texture.

Does RF microneedling hurt?

Radiofrequency microneedling can sometimes feel a little uncomfortable. It can feel like a warm sensation on your skin, you may feel some mild stinging or tingling during the procedure, but this will settle quickly following treatment. With the use of numbing cream prior to the procedure, it can help to improve comfort. Numbing cream is applied prior to treatment at Essence Cumbria to help with comfort during your treatment.
